LinMin Snapshot Manager provides several ways of provisioning any number of systems:
•Registered Machines (that appear in the Machines List page):
oCan have Payloads assigned to them one at a time, and set to Netboot Ready one at a time: when the Machine PXE boots, it will have the Payload delivered
oCan be organized in Groups, where you can assign the same Payload to all Machines in the Group, then set the entire Group to Netboot Ready
•Unregistered Machines (unknown to LSM) can also be made ready for production deployment by deploying a default Payload
This tutorial illustrates how to simplify Mass New Machine Deployments with the following operational example:
•A pallet with 25 servers was delivered
•All 25 systems have been racked and cabled in your data center
•They are all the same model (e.g., Dell MX840c, HPE-DL385, Lenovo SR950 or built-to-order white boxes)
•They will all run the same workload (e-commerce site load-balancing front ends in this example), though you go break them into 3 batches with 3 different Payloads
