Provisioner functions are accessed though a GUI, the CLI and an API

Web interface (GUI) using the Firefox browser: the vast majority of tasks are performed using a mouse

Command line: for the very occasional loading of operating system media and the Provisioner PXE Server management tasks

Application Programming Interface (API): to automate all major functions that can be done with the GUI

Because the vast majority of functions are performed using a browser, knowledge of Linux is needed only by the person(s) installing and maintaining the Provisioner PXE Server and managing the ISO media.

All day-to-day provisioning and imaging functions can be performed equally well by Windows and Linux system administrators, as there is no need for knowledge of the target environment once the Provisioner environment has been set up.

Provisioner is installed on an Intel architecture-based 64-bit physical system or Virtual Machine running either Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS 5.x x86_64 and provisions and images numerous versions of Linux, Windows and VMware ESX/ESXi.
